    New!

We have added new support to Cardcom’s payment plugin for WooCommerce (see the guide)
and from now on, it can also be used with the WooCommerce subscriptions plugin – the Woo Subscriptions plugin.

You can read more information about the Woo Subscriptions plugin here >>>

    https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-subscriptions
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/subscriptions/store-manager-guide

Businesses that have purchased a license for the plugin can receive support for it directly from WooCommerce >>> https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    What is the difference?

Until now, Cardcom’s payment plugin for Woo mainly enabled payment for transactions “at the time of purchase.”

Until now, when there was a need to set up a subscription (to charge the customer recurring credit-card payments) —
the business had to contact a developer to implement an integration with Cardcom’s API.

This meant that the developer had to write code to maintain the customer’s details (token) and charge the customer at the desired times, or add a new payment instruction in the cloud-based recurring-payment system based on the customer’s transaction details.

(*Note*  There is an alternative that is less suitable for online stores: setting up recurring-payment instructions through a Zahav payment page.)

As of today, anyone who already uses, or wants to start using, the WooCommerce subscriptions plugin —
the Woo Subscriptions plugin — can do so by changing a few simple configuration settings in the Cardcom plugin
and setting up the products as subscription products on the website!

The latest version that supports this functionality is version 3.4.0 and later (see the changes).

    -----------------------------------------------------------

What does this require from the business?

First, while Cardcom’s payment plugin is offered free of charge to businesses that work with us,
the Woo Subscriptions plugin is not free and costs $200 per year when purchased through global WooCommerce.

This should be taken into account, as this cost is outside Cardcom’s control and Cardcom is not involved in it.

--- Do you have the plugin, or are you planning to purchase it? Great! ---

There are several things you will need to make sure are enabled for your subscription account with Cardcom:

    1. The mechanism on which recurring charges in your system are based through the Woo Subscriptions plugin is called the “Token Module.”
For the plugin to work as required, you must contact the Sales department to set up this module.

    2. To charge a customer’s saved credit-card details (token), you also need a terminal with the credit-card companies that does not require CVV entry (“the digits on the back of the card”) to process charges.

If you do not have such a terminal in your subscription account, you will most likely need to set up a secondary terminal for this purpose, as required by the credit-card company >>>> Read more about this in the relevant article — Recurring-payment terminals without a CVV requirement

    3. In addition, to use the payment plugin for WordPress websites, the “Low-Profile Page Module” must generally be active in the relevant subscription account and terminal. If you have not set it up yet, discuss this with the Sales department as well.

This applies to the plugin’s general operation, not only to Woo Subscriptions.

On the WordPress website itself, all you need to do is update the relevant setting in the plugin and configure a few additional options:

    1. In the plugin, set the action to “Charge and save token.” (Essential for working with subscriptions)

    2. If you set up two terminals as described above — a primary terminal and a secondary terminal without CVV — configure them accordingly:
the primary terminal under “Terminal Number,” and the exempt terminal in the “Cvv Must Terminal Number” field.

    3. The remaining settings should also be configured as relevant to the plugin’s general operation.
Read the complete instructions in the plugin guide >>> WooCommerce Payment WOO Guide

    That’s it! 👍
Now you are ready to set up a product of the “subscription” type
and allow customers to join and pay regularly for your service by credit card, automatically using the Woo Subscriptions plugin.

    What does it look like?

We will soon add screenshots describing the interfaces essential for your use. (Thank you for your patience~)

Scope of support for the plugin

Cardcom representatives will be happy to assist you with the initial implementation process and with resolving issues that may arise during the process, particularly regarding payment processing through Cardcom’s mechanisms.

However, the plugin has its own support provided by global WooCommerce, and you may also need assistance from an external party, such as website and systems developers or integration specialists, for more complex implementations or configurations tailored to your needs.

After implementation and completion of the steps, we recommend running a test subscription on a daily basis (you can use a small amount),
to ensure everything works properly before making the subscription option available to your customers.

We are happy to bring you this innovation and expand the solutions and services offered to your business through the updated plugin and its features!
